Hysteroscopy is a medical procedure that allows the doctor to look inside your uterus in order to diagnose and treat the causes of abnormal bleeding, fibroids, blockage or any uterine cavity. Hysteroscopy is done using a hysteroscope, a long thin, lighted tube that is inserted slowly into the vagina to examine the cervix and inside of the uterus. Hysteroscopy can be either operative or diagnostic. Diagnostic hysteroscopy is a method that is used to diagnose problems of the uterus that can majorly be the cause of infertility.
