Embryo Freezing

Embryo freezing is a clinical procedure that allows couples to store embryos for later use or for 2nd IVF attempt. An embryo formation is done after fertilization and after the cells start to divide. The process of stimulating ovaries begins by using hormones and other medications to stimulate the production of fertile eggs. A doctor then retrieves the eggs from the ovaries, either for fertilizing in a lab or for egg freezing purposes. Successful fertilization of eggs may lead to at least one or two healthy embryos. A doctor can then transfer the fertilized embryo to the uterus or womb. If the IVF treatment is successful, the embryo will develop and form the fetus. Fertilization of the embryos often results in the formation of more than one embryos, and the doctor can freeze and preserve the remaining embryos that are called embryo freezing and it can be for 3 month-6 months or up to 1 year.
