There are specific foods that can increase a woman’s fertility. Here’s a list of fertility-enhancing foods that you must include in your diet if you are trying to get pregnant.

 

  • BANANAS: Abundant in potassium and vitamin B6, banana helps in improving fertility. It does so by enhancing sperm and egg quality and regulating reproductive hormones.
  • BEANS: Rich in lean protein and iron, beans are known to boost a woman’s fertility and libido. Low iron levels in the body result in the production of unhealthy or less healthy eggs.
  • COMPLEX CARBS: Studies say that a high insulin level hinders ovulation. Our body digests bad carbs quickly and elevates our blood sugar level. Good carbs, also known as complex carbs, get digested slowly and have a steady effect on our blood sugar level.
  • GREENS: Green leafy vegetables are abundant in folate and B vitamin, both of which are said to enhance ovulation. Green leafy vegetables also raise a woman’s libido.
  • BERRIES: Berries are rich in antioxidants and thus, protect eggs from damage and aging. Berries, in particular strawberry, also enhance a woman’s libido.
  • POTATOES: Baked potatoes are a wonderful source of Vitamin C. Also, they are thought to be effective in treating luteal phase defects i.e. When your ovaries do not release enough progesterone.
  • PUMPKIN SEEDS: Pumpkin seeds are abundant in non-heme iron. According to a study, the women who regularly ate this iron were 40 percent less likely to have a problem getting pregnant than those who did not consume it. You can roast pumpkin seeds and add salt and pepper to taste better.
  • OLIVE OIL: Olive oil is monosaturated fat that reduces inflammation in the body. Inflammation interferes with ovulation and early development of the embryo.

You can cook food in olive oil or add it to salads.

  • WHOLE DAIRY PRODUCTS: It has been found that the more low-fat dairy products a woman eats, the more difficulty she has getting pregnant. Eating full-fat dairy products help women to have less difficulty in getting pregnant.
  • SHELLFISH: Being seafood, shellfish is loaded with vitamin B12. It facilitates strengthening the endometrium lining which is necessary for getting pregnant in women and boosting the sperm count in men.
