Laparoscopy

Diagnostic laparoscopy is a surgical medical procedure that doctors use to view a woman’s uterus, cysts, fallopian tubes, and reproductive organs. A laparoscope, a long thin viewing tube similar to a telescope, is lightly passed through a small incision (cut) in the abdomen of women. Using the laparoscope, the doctor can look directly at the inside of the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, and nearby women’s organs. A female pelvic laparoscopy is often recommended when other diagnostic tests, such as ultrasound, scans, and X-ray, cannot confirm the cause of infertility reasons in women.
